Provides updated data related to the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of rebated vehicles:

  • 83% of rebated vehicles had model-minimum MSRPs below $40,000 before incentives (model year 2020).
  • Rebate influence by MSRP is displayed for the program overall, for Tesla compared to non-Tesla vehicles, and for cars compared to SUVs/vans.
    • Attractive offerings (whether SUV body style or Tesla products) are found to have lower Rebate Essentiality, especially as MSRP increases
    • Rebate Essentiality (an indicator of program cost-effectiveness) indicates model-minimum MSRP cap for cars should be at least $40k; $60k may still be appropriate.
