GM’s Volt is a true electric car with a gasoline engine, which is used to generate electricity only. I purchased my 2017 Volt about two years ago. I have driven about 24,000 miles including 3 round trip drives between the Bay Area and Los Angles. I am very impressed by its maneuvering, quick response in its accelerating and breaking, good mileage when gas engine is on, and it has a total cruise mileage of 400 miles. Most important you don’t have to worry finding an electric charging station.

I have vividly watched the GM automobile’s world rating slip from the top of the world in the 1960s to the bottom around 2000. I have not purchased an American car for more than thirty years. This car surprised me. It makes me wonder if this car is designed by GM. If so, they sure deserve a prize.
