My first reason for buying an EV was to do the right thing for the environment by reducing my carbon footprint.

Once I started driving in electric mode, I found that I liked it a lot better than a gasoline engine. The immediate torque starting from a stop is a great feeling, and the tech features of my Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) make driving fun. I also like all the safety features included in the model I bought, and of course the pretty blue color.

I was looking at EV vehicles while an apartment renter. I wasn’t sure I’d be able to plug in at home, so a plug-in hybrid seemed the best match. I bought a PHEV. As it turned out, I was able to negotiate with my landlord to use an electrical outlet near my car’s parking spot.

Now, I charge every night, and it’s more than enough to do my round-trip commute. I’ve used very, very little gas in the past two years; maybe three fill-ups? I love how quiet and quick my car is, and that I’m doing the right thing for the environment.
